niga kanji is a Japanese learning app. This policy explains what data the app stores and how it is used.

Study progress

The app stores study progress, lesson completion, review scheduling, personal mnemonics, validated answers, and app settings on your device.

iCloud backup

If iCloud is available, the app may back up your study progress to your private iCloud database using CloudKit. This backup is associated with your Apple Account and is not shared with other app users.

WaniKani import

If you choose to import WaniKani progress, the app sends the API token you paste to WaniKani's API to fetch your WaniKani user and assignment data. If you enable "Remember token on this iPhone," the token is stored on your device in the iOS Keychain. WaniKani import is optional. The app developer does not operate WaniKani and does not receive your WaniKani token from the app.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions and purchase restoration are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. The app checks Apple-provided entitlement status to unlock paid lessons.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules local review reminders on your device. The app does not use a third-party push notification provider.

Analytics and tracking

The app does not use third-party advertising, tracking SDKs, or cross-app tracking.

Data retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, restore over it, or delete the app. iCloud backup data remains in your private iCloud database unless it is replaced by a newer backup or removed through your iCloud account controls.

Support
